Beavis: It’s Still Fun and Games!

Beavis

This was painted by what’s probably my favorite photo taken of my Pekingese Beavis. He looks so happy… it shows that there is still fun and games after losing an eye. ;)

Mischu

Mischu

Mischu (hope I’m spelling that right!) is my brother and sister in law’s dog. His papers say he’s a Shih Tzu, but he looks more like a Pekingese. But he acts more like a Shih Tzu. Such a sweetie-pie. This was a gift for them. I didn’t have a good picture of Mischu, but even a so-so pick can make a beautiful painting, once you add a better background and get rid of the laser eyes from flash. Painted in 2013. Acrylic on canvas board, 11×14.

Sarah, Eddie and Toby James

Sarah, Eddie and Toby JamesThis was a wedding gift for my niece Sarah, of her, her husband Eddie and their golden retriever Toby James. But I didn’t want to wait until her wedding to give it to her, so I told her the frame was her shower gift and the painting their wedding gift, and gave it early. I’m not known for my patience. ;)

It was my first time painting people portraits in ages, and I think the first time I painted a guy, ever. 2011. Acrylic on canvas, 24×36.

There were tears. Mission accomplished. :)

Sugar’s So Sweet

Sugar

I love when I have a great photo to use as reference, and Sugar’s mom Lissa is a great photographer. This adorable Eskimo was a delight to paint. Painted in 2010. Acrylic on canvas, 11×14.

Penni the Welsh Pembroke Corgi

Penni

This one was so much fun to paint. Penni’s quizzical expression and giant bat ears are just too cute. Painted in 2006. Oil on canvas, 11×14.
