Beavis, “I said good-day, sir.”

Beavis,

When I bought this doll-sized top hat at the craft store, the clerk asked, “Are you making a snow-man?”

“No,” I replied. “It’s for my dog.”

Beavis, my one-eyed Pekingese, looks like a proper British gentleman in this hat. I can’t not laugh when I see the photo, from the hat, to his stubby bowed legs, to how cute he is with a hair cut (his little tail!!!!), to his jacked up crooked teeth. I knew I had to paint it.

The uninspiring background of the beat up sidewalk and weeds were replaced with pavers edged in river rock and a flower garden.

Painted in 2013. Acrylic on canvas board, 11×14.

Beavis: It’s Still Fun and Games!

Beavis

This was painted by what’s probably my favorite photo taken of my Pekingese Beavis. He looks so happy… it shows that there is still fun and games after losing an eye. ;)

Mischu

Mischu

Mischu (hope I’m spelling that right!) is my brother and sister in law’s dog. His papers say he’s a Shih Tzu, but he looks more like a Pekingese. But he acts more like a Shih Tzu. Such a sweetie-pie. This was a gift for them. I didn’t have a good picture of Mischu, but even a so-so pick can make a beautiful painting, once you add a better background and get rid of the laser eyes from flash. Painted in 2013. Acrylic on canvas board, 11×14.
